Asphalt pavement is flexible.
That means it will tend to follow the shape of the base and sub-base below it. Obviously, if the stone base is graded improperly, the pavement surface will not provide the desired ride quality. That is why Payne & Dolan is equipped to do the final grading on its paving projects.
Most of Payne & Dolan's grading equipment has electronic slope controls installed. This assures that the surface to be paved will have the right drainage characteristics. |
