The engineers are carefully selected for their technical competence as well as their common sense approach to problem solving. In addition to their responsibilities for overseeing construction, most of the engineers provide design recommendations to owners. Many of our engineers are licensed professional engineers with experience as design consultants. They conduct peer reviews on plans and offer 'value engineering' advice to design firms, technical seminars for design firms and other general contractors.
To assure that engineers perform at a high level of efficiency, Payne & Dolan provides them with state-of-the art equipment and supplies. Every project manager has a computer on his or her desk with current releases of software for project management, bidding and other engineering applications. Hardware systems consist of both local (LAN) and wide area (WAN) networks as well as e-mail and internet capabilities. Drawing and graphic files can be transmitted and received and printed to a host of plotters and printers.
Pavement Management spreadsheets are likewise transmitted to clients in electronic format.
